Cat Requirements
What to bring
- Food/Treats: Meals are included as part of our nightly rate. We offer a variety of dry and canned foods to suit your pet’s appetite. If your pet is eating a specific diet from home, please bring it as we are happy to accommodate that request. Please ensure to bring an appropriate amount for your pet’s stay in a container or original packaging. We will take detailed instructions on the quantity and frequency of your pet’s diet and serve meals accordingly.
- Medication/Supplement: Please bring all medications in their original packaging. We will be responsible for labeling each medication according to your instructions. We will confirm the dose, frequency and duration of administration with you. Ideally it would be helpful to know the reason the pet is taking the medication. Please be prepared to provide this information or provide contact information so that we can verify this with your veterinarian. A $3.00 fee applies.
- Bedding/toys: Having something familiar that smells like home often helps to make cats feel more secure. If you chose to bring along select items from home, please ensure that they are reasonably sized and can be laundered or washed easily.
- Litter/Litter box: Some cats can be very particular about the size, shape and texture of their litter and litter box. If your cat would prefer to have the same litter box and or litter, you are more than welcome to bring it along.
- Carriers: To ensure the safety of your cat, please bring your cat in a carrier.
General Cat Requirements
Vaccinations
To ensure the health and safety of all the pets that stay with us, we require that your cat’s vaccinations be current.
The vaccinations that we require are: Rabies and FVRCP.
We are happy to accept this information via email, current vaccine record or veterinary invoice or verbal confirmation from your veterinary clinic.
If your cat has special vaccine considerations or exemptions, please speak to one of our Client Care Team members today!
Temperament
We understand that any environment away from home can be stressful for some cats. We closely monitor appetite and litter box habits to ensure that each cat is as comfortable as possible in our environment and we are happy to work around the individual personality traits of each cat.
Health
As advances in veterinary care become more available to pet owners, our pets are living longer, fuller lives. We are proud of our ability to accommodate virtually any medical condition that pet owners are able to manage at home. We have treated pets with topical, oral and even injectable medications while still providing a stimulating and comfortable environment. Call us today to discuss how we can accommodate your pet.
Pets with contagious illness or that have recently recovered from surgery, require special considerations beyond our care. If this applies to your pet, please speak with your veterinarian to discuss care options for your pet.
Catered Care
Does your pet require Catered Care? No problem!
Gender
In order to maintain a comfortable environment for all cats staying with us, we require that all male cats are neutered. The scent of intact male cat urine can be quite strong and upsetting to the other cats in our cattery.
All neutered males as well as spayed or intact females, are welcome to stay in our cattery.
Age
Parker Pet Care does not place age restrictions on cats coming into our facility. However, all cats must be fully vaccinated prior to entering our facility and final vaccinations are usually administered at 16 weeks (4 months) of age.
Senior pets are also welcome. In fact, we’ve cared for many guests from the time they were kittens to well into their golden years!

Bedding/Toys
We offer many different styles of bedding from Micro-fleece blankets to raised cot beds. Since our environment is very stimulating and active, we prefer to use all of our own bedding and toys so that they may be appropriately sterilized as part of our routine.
Articles from home can get lost or damaged and we would prefer to keep these items to a minimum. If you would like to leave something with your pet, please make sure it is not of significant value to you or your pet.
Vaccinations
We require proof of the following vaccinations for all our dog and cat guests prior to their visit and to ensure the health and safety of all. We accept information via email, current vaccine records, a veterinary invoice or verbal confirmation from your veterinary clinic.

Temperament
From experience, we know that dogs come in many shapes, sizes and temperaments. We understand the personality traits that are specific to certain breeds and we pride ourselves on our ability to adapt our care to work in harmony with many different pets.
To ensure that we are able to meet the needs of each client and pet, we require a FREE TRIAL DAY visit prior to the initial overnight stay. This allows your pet to have the opportunity to become familiar with our facility, staff and routine while providing a positive, short, first visit. Our staff will slowly introduce your pet to the different aspects that your pet will encounter while boarding and generate a report to communicate how your pet reacted. Most family pets thrive in our environment once they are given this opportunity to become acclimatized to the routine and staff.

Each of our pet guests are different. We know some pets can sometimes be perfectly healthy but require special attention or care.
We’re here and happy to accommodate by offering our Special Care to Special Needs package.
Our pricing is based on each case and supplementary care required.
The only time we will regretfully have to say no is for pets with contagious diseases, broken bones or stitches.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I drop off / pick up my pet?
You may Pick up/Drop off your pet any time within our business hours. (Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 6pm.)
What happens if my flight/travel plans are delayed and I cannot pick up my pet when I originally planned?
We have many clients who travel internationally and this is often the case. If you are not able to pick up your pet on the original departure date, we can move the departure date to the following day and make arrangements to have your pet stay until you are able to make the pick up. Normally it is best if the client can let us know in advance if this might be a possibility so that we can ensure that your pet has enough food/medications etc. for an extra night or two.
Is there anyone with my pet overnight?
The Animal Care building is open from 6:30am to 9:30pm. Overnight, there is always a member of our senior management on the property but not working directly with the animals. The daily routine here is very stimulating and generally speaking, most dogs and cats are much more active here than they are at home. Seeing handlers walk through the building is very exciting for the animals and would inhibit your pet’s ability to wind down and rest before the next action packed day.
Where does my dog/cat stay?
Based on the services selected by the owner, your dog or cat will partake in the daily activities, social interactions and playtimes chosen. (See daily schedule of activity options) As well, there are:
- Bathroom breaks which happen between 7am to 9am, 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm
- Health checks between 10am and 12pm
- Breakfast 9am Lunch 12pm
- Dinner 5pm
- Medications given as per client’s directions
Can my dog and cat stay together?
Unfortunately, since dogs and cats are kept in separate buildings, we do not have the ability to board dogs and cats from the same family together.
Can my pet's stay together?
Yes! We have double sized accommodations where we can house multi-dog families together and multi-cat families together. We also have the capability to have multi-pet families stay together always, stay together just overnight, be separated for feeding and every variation in between.
Can I see where my dog is going to stay?
You are more than welcome to see where your dog/cat will be staying by way of a tour either prior to, or on the day of your pet’s reservation. Normally it is best to keep the front office as the hello and goodbye area so that your pet does not associate the boarding experience with the chance that they might see you during their boarding reservation.
May I bring my pet's medications?
We accept all topical and oral medications for both dogs and cats. We are also experienced in administering injectable medications to agreeable dogs and cats. Please call us to discuss your pet’s medication needs.
Small vs big co-mingle?
We never put our guests in jeopardy even if the potential for injury is accidental. We keep every dog segregated by size and temperament and this way there are no inadvertent issues.

Can my dog be social?
We do offer a Group Play Program where temperament tested dogs are allowed to mingle and play with other dogs.
